There are many settings within DXO which you may not be aware of.

Obviously you have been shooting raw for a few months and so are familiar with LR. Why not put the raw on Dropbox so that someone who is familiar with DXO could see what they can do? I am really disappointed on the result as I had a hope that DxO might actually do it for me! Please note that I did not use any noise reduction in either programs. To my eyes at least there is no comparison between the two results - photolab result has loss of detail (please compare the bright part at the center and the rock at the forefront!

The adjustments made relate again to highlights and shadows use of smart lighting and clearview adjustments plus the increase of exposure by 1. I tried everything I could and the result is the following I tried to achieve a similar result with Photolab which admittedly I am not very familiar. I performed minimal PP in LR - namely I "played" with the highlights / shadows and white and black sliders while I increased the exposure by 1.

The photo library can process third-party application synchronisations and EXIF data. In the original shot I obviously exposed for the highlights. It gives Adobe Lightroom a run for its money. I wanted to test the two with a rather difficult shoot you can see below. I am also looking for an LR alternative and initially I thought that Photolab would be a good choice now they added local processing. I am amateur doing as relatively little PP. the latest DxO Photolab and I must come upfront saying I am disappointed by the later. I would like to put forward my experience in comparing LR 5 Vs.
